Shanthimalai Nag Champa also known as "red nag champa" has the complexity and depth of scent of the old nag champas, specifically Satya Sai Baba Nag Champa and many people prefer this scent over it as the formulation for that brand changed a few years ago.  We prefer this version as it is musky, warm and with a crisp top note that sets it apart from other champas.

Shanthimalai Incense is handmade by village women at the foot of the sacred mountain Arunachala in Tamil Nadu, India. Made with fine natural ingredients and exquisitely perfumed, the incense sets new standards for quality and purity.

A large perentage of profits from sales of the incense contributes to the health care, education, and vocational training for local villagers through Shanthimalai Trust, founded in 1985. Production of incense offers employment for widows, abandoned mothers, and physically handicapped or unmarried women who otherwise would have no means of earning an income.

Hold a lighted match to the coated end of a stick until it glows: blow out flame. Place sticks in an incense holder, a flower pot, or a glass filled with salt, sand, or earth. Make sure that the ashes fall on a fireproof surface, and keep burning stick away from flammable articles such as papers, drapes, etc. Do not allow sticks to touch any varnished, painted, plastic, etc. surfaces
